The Places to Be

I’ve identified three different places where we love to photograph seniors, and they span a wide variety of locales from pretty parks to gritty industrial areas.

DOWNTOWN TACOMA — There are so many visually interesting places to be photographed in downtown Tacoma! Cool modern architecture, historic buildings, lush landscaping, waterfront views, public art installations, broken-down warehouses, walls covered in bright colors or graffiti — we can even head to Wright Park just up the hill if you want both garden and urban settings.

POINT DEFIANCE — We’re lucky to have one of America’s most amazing city parks right here in Tacoma. The coolest thing about Pt. D is that it’s big enough that we can get a lot of variety without leaving its borders. Highlights include seasonal flower displays, the Japanese garden, long stretches of rocky beach with occasional views of Mt. Rainier, and dense, mossy forests.

LAKEWOLD GARDENS — I have a special arrangement with the private Lakewold Gardens estate to bring seniors there for photo shoots. This place is amazing! Highlights include beautiful landscaping, old brick walls, historic buildings, lake views, mossy statues, Asian wall murals, and more. A $50 surcharge is required to cover license fees and travel.

I’m also happy to customize your shoot, such as including a detour to your high school, or to your favorite hangouts. If you have your own ideas, let me know!
